Make Quran Learning A Happier Experience For Your Kids
As much rewarding as reading the Holy Quran is, mastering the skill is no easy feat. Reading and learning Quran should begin as early as possible, should be encouraged by parents at a young age. Not to mention how time-consuming the entire endeavour of learning Quran can be without a proper teacher in place or when the child has no interest. Children are most likely to lose interest when they find the entire task difficult or boring. This can be overcome by having the right tutors in place.
There’s no better teacher than
parents in the formative years of a child. Parents should be the first people
to impart children
Quran lessons to their
kids. The best part is there are ways parents can make the entire task more fun
and fulfilling for their kids. This blog aims to highlight those fun methods of
imparting education:
Establish a connection/bonding- Prior to starting off with the Quran classes, make your kids understand
the significance of its teachings in one’s life, the value of Quran learning,
etc. This can be instrumental in developing their interest, which is the key to
grasping everything at the earliest possible time. Pursue various modes of
learning when teaching them and look for the approach that they are coping well
with. Motivate them and encourage them for learning.
Add more meaning to their learning- Your child will value the learning more when you make learning more
meaningful. You can start by explaining the meanings of the verses of Quran,
which will enable your child to understand the message of Quran. Keep your
explanations brief, don’t go into too much explanation. Also, tailor your
explanation around the age of your child. A good approach is to explain the
stories that are explained in the Holy Quran in an engaging manner. There are
many interesting and beautiful stories mentioned in the Holy Scripture through
which you can impart great life lessons. Your child may not realize now, but a
time will come when they’ll be grateful for everything including the lessons
given by you. Stories
in the Quran especially ones with animals or insects can be quite fascinating
for your kid.
Reward them to encourage- This
is a great way to motivate. Organize a quiz or play a game, reward them based
on their performance. This will keep them in high spirits and increase their
willingness to learn more. This will also boost their self-confidence and they
will continue their classes with renewed interest (it will help to combat their
fear of failure).
Last, but not the least, have
your kid listen to Quran, make your kids listen to the recitation of Quran. We
generally learn anything fast when we listen to that. Listening to audio
recordings of the Quran will not just help them memorize Quran, but also they
will learn the accurate and correct recitation of the Quran.
